An Experience Worth Sharing?

While driving through the park I asked Mike if he found himself sharing stories back home, of our previous trip? His reply was “it’s hard to explain”. I wondered why I never got into too much detail, was it because I had nothing to share? Doubt that was the reason as it was filled with amazing experiences. Was it, no one cared, possibly? But Mike’s right it’s hard to explain and for people to get a sense of this kind of trip, to understand and feel what we experienced, unless they’ve experienced it themselves. And sometimes I even wonder if I fully appreciate or understand the adventure we went on, something not everyone will have the balls to do.

Why do we choose to share our experiences? Through photos posted on Instagram or Facebook or stories written for others to read. Do we feel it validates them? Do we want others to like them to give us some mental boost or do we feel they are worth sharing for others to also get a chance to appreciate and enjoy some of the experiences we luckily had?

Whatever one’s reason we all tend to do it in one form or another, our ancestors were story tellers and hopefully stories can inspire and motivate too. Sometimes it’s hard to really capture the moment in an image or put it down in words, and those that manage are gifted and allow us to get lost and be part of their adventures.

So, I will try my best through my stories to bring you on the journey with us, to feel what we felt and experience the beauty and adventure overlanding has to offer.
